
Eight from Karnataka get Padma award
Shatavadhani R. Ganesh and Prabhakar B. Kore, both from Karnataka, have been awarded Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri respectively for their contributions to art and literature. Dr. Ganesh is a writer in Kannada and Sanskrit who revived the tradition of Avadhana in Kannada. Dr. Kore, a three-time Rajya Sabha member, has also served as president of the Karnataka Lingayat Education Society. Other recipients include Anke Gowda M., Suresh Hanagavadi, S.G. Susheelamma, Shubha Iyengar, and T.T. Jagannathan.
