Himachal’s finances improved through increased revenue generation, expenditure cuts: Sukhu

Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, stated that his government has improved the state's financial condition through revenue generation and expenditure cuts. He attributed this to the restoration of the Old Pension Scheme, which stopped additional borrowing of ₹1,700 crore. Despite a strained financial situation, he announced the complete payment of arrears for pensioners and family pensioners aged 70 and above in January. Sukhu also criticized the previous BJP government's handling of state finances, highlighting a significant reduction in revenue deficit grants and outstanding arrears. He emphasized that the Congress government is committed to protecting Himachal Pradesh's interests and promoting sustainable development.
