Cases booked against around 200 CPI(M), Cong. and BJP workers after violence in Payyannur
Police have registered cases against over 200 individuals from CPI(M), Congress, and BJP following a series of violent incidents in Payyannur town. Cases were filed against 18 CPI(M) workers for attacking a Congress demonstration, with P. Santhosh and Sarin Sasi named as individuals involved. Congress leaders, including K. Jayaraj, A. Rupesh, and Navneet Narayanan, were also booked for allegedly staging a road blockade. The police have also registered cases against 25 BJP workers for blocking traffic without permission, with Panakil Balakrishnan, Dhanesh Kaniyamkunnu, and Sujith Thayineri among those named.
