Ahead of Budget Session, Govt convenes all-party meet on January 27

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju has called an all-party meeting on January 27 to discuss the legislative agenda ahead of the Budget Session, which begins on January 28 with President Droupadi Murmu's address. The session will continue until April 2 and includes the presentation of the Union Budget on February 1, Nirmala Sitharaman's ninth consecutive budget. The session also coincides with ongoing campaigns by the opposition Congress against the new Gramin Act and counter-campaigns by the ruling BJP highlighting its reformist nature.
