Twenty20’s NDA entry puts Congress in a bind at Vadavucode-Puthencruz panchayat
The Twenty20 political outfit, backed by the Kitex Group, has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), leading to a power shift in the Vadavucode-Puthencruz panchayat. The UDF, with 7 members, secured victory over the LDF, which had 8 members, thanks to the support of two Twenty20 members. The CPI(M) demanded that the Congress relinquish power while the Congress and Twenty20 maintained a status quo position. Reji Thomas, elected panchayat president with Twenty20 support, stated that he sought votes from all parties.
