Punjab Congress in damage control mode after Channi’s Dalit representation demand

Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, the Punjab Congress president, addressed internal party discord sparked by Charanjit Singh Channi's call for greater Dalit representation. He denied any factionalism within the state unit and stated that the Congress does not practice caste or communal politics. Warring emphasized that while there may be minor differences among leaders, they do not work against the party. He also assured that deserving candidates from the Scheduled Castes will be accommodated regardless of seat reservations.
