DMK’s allies criticise Governor; AMMK, PMK critique T.N. government’s prepared address to House

Governor R.N. Ravi declined to read his customary address at the opening session of the Tamil Nadu Assembly, prompting criticism from DMK allies and opposition parties. K. Selvaperunthagai, president of the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee, argued that the Governor's actions violated constitutional provisions and were unfit for office. Vaiko, MDMK chief, accused the Governor of disregarding Assembly traditions, while M. Veerapandian, CPI state secretary, demanded his recall by the Union Government. Anbumani, PMK president, criticized the address's investment claims as false, and T.T.V. Dhinakaran, Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam leader, argued that it failed to address societal issues like drug abuse and lawlessness.
