Government seeking dates as no merit in NSA case against Sonam Wangchuk, says Gitanjali Angmo

Sonam Wangchuk, a Magsaysay Award-winning climate activist and educator, was arrested under the National Security Act (NSA) on September 26th in Ladakh. His wife, Gitanjali Angmo, alleges that his detention is unlawful due to procedural lapses and stale grounds for detention. She filed a habeas corpus petition challenging his arrest and argues that the government has repeatedly delayed court dates. Angmo also expressed disappointment with the lack of stronger opposition to Wangchuk's arrest and called for collective action against what she sees as an erosion of democracy in India.
