Kerala unit of Janata Dal (S) officially merges with Indian Socialist Janata Dal (ISJD)
Mathew T. Thomas, MLA and State president of the Janata Dal (Secular), announced that the Kerala unit has merged with the newly formed Indian Socialist Janata Dal (ISJD). The decision was made to address internal conflicts over the party's national leadership's alignment with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The merger will allow the ISJD to continue as an ally of the Left Democratic Front (LDF) in Kerala, opposing both the BJP and the Congress.
