Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday flagged off the country’s first Vande Bharat sleeper train between Howrah and Guwahati, offering an “airline-like travel experience” at economical fares. The fully AC train will reduce travel time by 2.5 hours and boost religious tourism. Modi also dedicated to the nation and laid the foundation stone of multiple rail and road infrastructure projects worth Rs 3,250 crore in Malda, Bengal, as part of his two-day visit to eastern India.
