
PM Modi to visit Assam for mass dance, Kaziranga elevated corridor
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Assam on January 17th and 18th, participating in a mass dance event and performing an initiation ceremony for the Kaziranga elevated corridor project. The Prime Minister will attend Bagurumba Dwhou 2026, a mass folk dance of the Bodo community, after landing in Guwahati on Saturday (January 17, 2026). On Sunday (January 18th), he will perform the 'bhoomi pujan' for the project at Kaliabor. The ₹6,950 crore Kaziranga elevated corridor aims to improve regional connectivity while protecting the park’s biodiversity. During the visit, Modi will also flag off two new Amrit Bharat Express trains.
