Maharashtra Civic polls: BJP leads on 84 seats in Nagpur, Congress 41, and AIMIM 4
The BJP is leading in the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) election with 84 seats, while the Congress has 41. Polling for the 151-member body took place on Thursday, January 15th alongside other municipal corporations in Maharashtra. Four candidates from the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) are also leading in Nagpur. The AIMIM contested on six seats and their candidates are ahead in Ward No. 3 in Asinagar zone, a predominantly Muslim area.
