Maharashtra Civic Polls: EC ‘gaslighting’ citizens, says Rahul on indelible ink row
Rahul Gandhi and other opposition leaders in Maharashtra have raised concerns about the quality of "indelible" ink used in marker pens for the recent civic polls, alleging it can be easily removed. The Maharashtra State Election Commission (SEC) has announced a probe into the matter, including the ink's quality and videos circulating online that show the ink being washed off fingers. The SEC will not use marker pens for upcoming Zilla Parishad elections but will revert to traditional ink produced by Mysore Paints and Varnish Limited, which is used in Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.
