Maharashtra civic polls are underway, but allegations of the use of marker pens instead of indelible ink to indicate voter participation have emerged. Raj Thackeray, leader of the MNS, has expressed concern over this practice and called for vigilance against potential irregularities. Congress spokesperson Sachin Sawant also raised concerns about the use of pen markers, claiming they can be removed with nail polish remover. Mumbai Municipal Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani stated that preliminary observations suggest the ink on nails is removable but not the ink on skin.
