
Suvendu warns West Bengal CM of legal action over coal scam remarks
Suvendu Adhikari, leader of the Opposition in West Bengal, threatened to file a defamation case against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for accusing him of involvement in a coal smuggling scam. He claimed that the deadline given to Ms. Banerjee to respond to a defamation notice expired and she had failed to provide evidence to substantiate her allegations. Mr. Adhikari warned Ms. Banerjee that he would pursue legal action, including civil and criminal defamation proceedings, if she did not respond with evidence within 72 hours.
