Over 3.48 crore voters in Maharashtra will cast their ballots on Thursday, January 15th, 2026, for municipal corporation elections across the state, including Mumbai. The election features intense competition between six major political parties, with a focus on the Mumbai municipal corporation where cousins Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray have reunited after two decades. Dinesh Waghmare, Maharashtra State Election Commissioner, met with representatives of all registered political parties and senior police officials to review poll preparedness.
