Mani C. Kappan, leader of the Kerala Democratic Party (KDP), met with P.K. Kunhalikutty, national general secretary of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), to discuss potential seat-sharing arrangements for the upcoming Assembly elections. Kappan expressed his unwillingness to relinquish the Pala Assembly seat if the Kerala Congress (M) rejoined the United Democratic Front (UDF). While Kunhalikutty remained non-committal about seat-sharing talks, he acknowledged growing interest from other parties in joining the UDF.
