‘Chaos may happen’ if Kuki-Zo MLAs join Manipur govt., says KZC chairman

He believes that the current emotional state of the people following ethnic violence in 2023 would hinder a successful popular government. Thanglet also highlighted security issues, including restricted movement on National Highway-2 and access to Imphal airport, which have been ongoing since 2023. Despite improvements in security due to President's Rule, he advocates for continued peace before considering a popular government. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has extended the suspension of operations agreement with Kuki-Zo insurgent groups and is currently engaged in dialogue regarding land rights.
