Mizoram Cabinet is against extending Governor’s Rule in troubled tribal council

The Mizoram Cabinet has rejected the extension of Governor's Rule in the Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC), citing a lack of political instability. The ministers argued that the council enjoys a clear majority with a single political party and that Governor's Rule was imposed despite their recommendation for the largest party to form the next executive committee. This decision follows similar turmoil in the Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC) where the Mizo National Front (MNF) withdrew support from its post-poll alliance with the Zoram People's Movement after a hung House election.
