Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, a senior Congress leader, accused I-PAC, a corporate entity and the IT cell head of the Trinamool Congress, of acting as the ruling party's "eyes and ears" and devising electoral strategies. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted searches on I-PAC and its director Pratik Jain in Kolkata, alleging money laundering. Mamata Banerjee, West Bengal Chief Minister, claimed the raid was politically motivated and unconstitutional, while Chowdhury called for impartial action.
