Owaisi Condemns Mosque Demolition, Alleges BJP's Selective Targeting

On Saturday, Asaduddin Owaisi, president of AIMIM and Hyderabad MP, condemned the demolition of a mosque inside the Saharanpur Collectorate complex in Uttar Pradesh, questioning constitutional protections for Muslims. The mosque was demolished following a court order upholding an earlier decision that it occupied unauthorized government land. Owaisi claimed historical records dating back to 1911 established the mosque's existence and alleged selective targeting by the BJP. He said AIMIM would respond through "constitutional and political means," amid upcoming assembly elections in February-March 2027.
