VACB note on legality of foreign funding for Kerala’s Leader of Opposition, V.D. Satheesan

Satheesan, leader of the opposition, regarding foreign funds allegedly used for flood relief in his constituency in 2018. The investigation, which began nearly seven years ago, suggests possible violations of the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA), 2010. The report has sparked political controversy and accusations that the State Government is attempting to divert attention from a recent conviction of an LDF legislator for tampering with evidence in a narcotic case.
