Union Home Minister Amit Shah chairs Parliamentary panel meeting in Andamans; discusses national security issues

Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, chaired a Parliamentary consultative committee meeting in Andaman and Nicobar Islands on Saturday (January 3, 2026) focusing on national security, disaster management, cyber security, and regional infrastructure. He stressed the importance of a "pronged strategy" to combat cybercrime and highlighted the strategic significance of the islands during the meeting. Shah will also inaugurate an exhibition on new criminal laws and lay the foundation stones for various projects in the archipelago before departing on January 4th.
