CPI(M)’s bid to cling to power through horse-trading anti-democratic, says Sunny Joseph

Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president Sunny Joseph condemned the Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] for allegedly using horse-trading and bribes to retain power in local body elections. He alleged that the party offered money and positions to Independent members to seize control of the Wadakkanchery block panchayat and Mattathur grama panchayat, accusing them of violating democratic values. Joseph demanded legal action against those involved and urged the CPI(M) to expel responsible members from the party.
