Kogilu demolition: Alternative housing for eligible families to be distributed on Jan. 2

Minister for Housing and Minority B.Z. Zameer Ahmed Khan announced that the distribution of alternative housing to families affected by the demolition of illegal structures in Yelahanka's Kogilu Layout will now take place on January 2nd after a day's delay due to ongoing verification processes. The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) and Rajiv Gandhi Housing Corporation are scrutinizing documents to determine eligibility for permanent housing, with officials emphasizing that only genuine beneficiaries will receive assistance. Protests were held by displaced families in Fakeer Colony and Waseem Layout, who expressed concerns about the lack of clarity surrounding eligibility criteria.
