Hindu refugees from Bangladesh will be most affected by SIR in West Bengal: CPI(M) leader

Kanti Ganguly, a senior CPI(M) leader, expressed concerns about the impact of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls on Hindu voters in West Bengal. He argued that the two-to-three month timeframe was insufficient for such a large and complex task. He also suggested that political parties with strong organizational structures would benefit most from the exercise. Ganguly emphasized the importance of clear guidelines to prevent misinformation and urged opposition parties to focus on specific drawbacks rather than simply protesting against the SIR. He stated his intention to appear at the document verification hearing on Friday, January 2nd, 2025.
