Congress Protesters Burn Tyres Against Alleged Purification Ritual

On Sunday, the Kalaburagi District Congress Committee staged a protest in Kalaburagi city against an alleged ‘purification’ ritual conducted after a speech by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, a Dalit leader, in Haldwani. The protest, which began from the party’s district office and ended near Annapurna Cross, involved burning tyres and carrying anti-casteist slogans.
