Indore water contamination: Official dismissed, two others suspended as death toll rises to 10; probe panel formed

The death toll in Indore city, Madhya Pradesh, has climbed to 10 after over 2,000 people fell ill from contaminated water supplied by the municipal corporation, with more than 100 admitted to hospitals. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav ordered the suspension of two officials and the dismissal of an engineer for failing to detect leaks in the water supply line. A three-member panel has been formed to investigate the incident, while the Madhya Pradesh High Court issued notices to authorities seeking a status report on the matter by January 2nd. The State Congress party also formed a fact-finding committee to probe the tragedy.
