Peace, normalcy can be restored in Manipur only if assembly is dissolved: Congress
Keisham Meghachandra, president of the Manipur Congress, called for the dissolution of the state Assembly and fresh elections to restore peace in the ethnically-torn region. He stated that the ongoing crisis exposed the failure of the current government to address the people's concerns, while BJP MLA Tongbram Robindro urged communities to forgive and forget differences during the New Year celebrations. Manipur has been under President's rule since February 2023 following ethnic violence between the Meitei and Kuki communities.
