Mayor objects to use of civic body e-buses outside city limits
V.V. Rajesh, newly elected Thiruvananthapuram city Mayor, objected to the operation of Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) electric buses outside city limits, alleging political pressure on the KSRTC. He cited an instance where a bus was found at a Neyyattinkara garage, prompting him to demand its return. The ruling CPI(M) criticized his decision, while General Education Minister V. Sivankutty dismissed the Mayor's remarks with a proverb. The city’s e-bus project is part of the Smart City Mission and involves 113 electric buses operated by the KSRTC.
