Minister writes to Centre requesting temporary toll exemption during Sankranti

Telangana's Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy chaired a meeting to address traffic concerns during the upcoming Sankranti festival. He directed all departments to be on duty for three days before and after the festival, restricting heavy vehicles from highways during peak travel times. A special incident management and control room will be set up with 108 ambulances and medical teams on alert. Minister Venkat Reddy also requested temporary toll exemption from Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari to facilitate smooth traffic flow. He plans to personally monitor the situation by touring the highways on a motorcycle and inspecting critical congestion points.
