Why in news: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh commissioned the INS Aridhaman (S4), India's third Arihant-class nuclear-powered submarine, at Visakhapatnam.

The INS Aridhaman (S4) is a nuclear-powered submarine capable of carrying up to 24 K-15 Sagarika missiles or other nuclear-tipped missiles. The project, which began in 2009 as the Advanced Technology Vessel (ATV) project, was executed by the Ship Building Centre (SBC) in Visakhapatnam.
