Tamil Nadu MPs Meet to Oppose Lok Sabha Seat Increase
On Saturday, Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay convened a meeting of Tamil Nadu MPs to discuss proposed delimitation, calling for maintaining the status quo on Lok Sabha seats at 543 and protecting current State representation. Of 57 invited MPs, only 19 participated; they decided to oppose any Constitutional Amendment Bill increasing seat numbers or giving sweeping powers to the Delimitation Commission. The meeting was held in Chennai, lasting over one and a half hours.
