Terrorists Kill 2 Labourers, Spark J&K Manhunt Detaining Over 3,000 Suspects
Mass detention of 'suspects' without due process raises serious concerns.
Jammu and Kashmir launched a manhunt after terrorists killed two migrant labourers from Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh on Friday in South Kashmir, near the Amarnath Yatra route. A police officer was also killed last week near Anantnag. Security forces are combing Kulgam and other areas amid threats of further attacks. Over 3,000 "suspects" have been detained over the past week. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha called for a review of standard operating procedures to address security concerns.
