WCC slams Kerala government over molestation case against filmmaker Kunhi Muhammed

The Women in Cinema Collective (WCC), a group of women professionals in the Malayalam film industry, criticized the Kerala government for its handling of a molestation case involving filmmaker P.T. Kunhi Muhammed. The WCC alleged that despite receiving a confidential letter from the survivor detailing the incident to the Chief Minister, no direct response was issued and an FIR was registered only eight days after her statement. They also accused the authorities of pressuring the survivor to drop the charges and delaying the arrest of the accused until after the IFFK. The WCC expressed disappointment with the government's slow response and lack of urgency in addressing the case, highlighting that their struggle for justice is ongoing.
