Floods in Assam have impacted over 6 lakh people and killed at least 78, affecting seven districts including Charaideo, Golaghat, Sivasagar, Nagaon, Biswanath, Jorhat, and Kamrup (Metropolitan). Sentinel-1 radar data shows around 145,120 hectares submerged between July 10 and July 29. Sivasagar district was worst hit with 44,600 hectares under water. Heavy rainfall in Nagaland triggered the floods; IMD forecasts more heavy rain raising flood fears until August 1.
