The Tamil Nadu Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) conducted searches at 41 locations, booking former excise minister V Senthil Balaji and six others for alleged years-long manipulation in liquor procurement and transport contracts within TASMAC. Searches began around 7 am on Wednesday at residences and offices across Tamil Nadu, including Senthil Balaji’s home in Karur. The FIR alleges criminal conspiracy and corruption causing significant losses to the government exchequer from 2021 to 2025.
