The Kerala High Court has sought the State’s response to a bail
Attack on law enforcement officials during a raid raises serious concerns about rule of law.
The Kerala High Court has sought the State’s response to a bail petition by Kiran P.S., one of 25 accused in an attack on Enforcement Directorate officials during a raid at former Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s house in May. The crime was registered under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act, 1984. Around 300 people were initially booked for assault. The ED raided Mr. Vijayan's houses in Kannur and Thiruvananthapuram over allegations that his daughter T. Veena’s firm, Exalogic, received retainers from CMRL without providing services. The matter will be considered on July 30.
