Floods in Assam Leave 4.45 Lakh Affected, 68 Dead

On Monday, the flood situation in Assam improved slightly with no new fatalities reported; 4.45 lakh people remain affected across six districts including Sivasagar and Charaideo. The Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) noted 68 deaths this year, with relief camps sheltering 28,695 displaced individuals. Ninety-four distribution centers are operational as rescue efforts continue. Croplands covering 37,139.52 hectares and 26,679 animals were lost.
