Former CM Siddaramaiah, 79, bows out over corrupt politics, pledges continued advocacy

On Sunday, Siddaramaiah, former Karnataka Chief Minister, announced he will not contest the 2028 Assembly polls due to his age and perceived deep corruption in politics. He cited being 79 years old and the current polluted state of politics as reasons for his decision. Despite this, Siddaramaiah pledged to stay active advocating for people's welfare. This announcement was made at a private event held on Saturday in K R Pet, Mandya district.
