
Floodwaters Recede in Ahmedabad; Highways Reopened
On Sunday, floodwaters began receding in Ahmedabad district after no significant rain since Saturday. Superintendent of Police Om Prakash Jat and District Development Officer Videh Khare reported that highways connecting Ahmedabad-Bagodara and Sanand-Viramgam were reopened for traffic. Around 10,000 people had been contacted or relocated during the flood situation; about 2400 from Gallops Industrial Park alone. Water levels are rising in Nal Sarovar but overall conditions are improving. Union Minister Amit Shah spoke with Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel regarding the affected areas.
