Unnao rape case: CBI moves Supreme Court challenging Delhi HC order suspending Kuldeep Sengar’s life sentence
Suspension of a life sentence for rape is a serious concern for justice.
The CBI has appealed to the Supreme Court against the Delhi High Court's decision to suspend the life sentence of former BJP MLA Kuldeep Sengar in the 2017 Unnao rape case. This follows an appeal filed by Sengar challenging his conviction and sentence, which was suspended by the high court on December 23rd pending his appeal. The Supreme Court will now review the High Court's order, while protests continue outside the Delhi High Court demanding justice for the victim.
