SIT extends probe to Tamil Nadu in Sabarimala gold case
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) in India extended its search for a businessman, Balamurughan also known as D. Mani, from Dindigul in Tamil Nadu, in connection with the Sabarimala gold loss case. The investigation followed allegations by senior Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala and statements from an NRI businessman who claimed that gold from Sabarimala might have reached Balamurughan. The SIT obtained a search warrant to locate him but was told he was not the individual they were searching for, instead claiming to be M.S. Mani, engaged in real estate. The SIT is now investigating whether these two individuals are the same person and issued a notice to M.S. Mani for questioning.
