
ACB uncovers ₹27.65 crore assets in Telangana engineer’s home, links to wife's firms
Abuse of power by a public official is a serious concern.
The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) registered a disproportionate assets case against Mutyam Venkata Ramana, Divisional Engineer of the Renewable Energy Development Corporation (REDCO), under the Prevention of Corruption Act. Searches on Wednesday at his residence and seven other premises uncovered ₹27.65 crore worth of assets including flats, commercial buildings, gold, vehicles, and more. The ACB also found he had invested in construction through firms registered in his wife’s name. Ramana was earlier arrested for accepting a bribe in December 2019. He was produced before the special court; further investigation continues.
