The bill bans polygamy, criminalises practices like triple talaq and nikah halala, mandates marriage registration, and grants equal inheritance rights. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav described it as a landmark reform, while Congress legislators criticised it for pursuing an ideological agenda. The Bill now awaits presidential assent.
