Doctor Arrested in Suicide Case Linked to Loan App Threats
On July 20, 2026, Crime Branch arrested Dr. M.K. Ram from Karnataka and brought him to Kannur after he was declared absconding following the Supreme Court's rejection of his anticipatory bail on July 13. Dr. Ram, former Head of Dental Anatomy at Kannur Dental College, is accused in R.L. Nithin Raj’s suicide case. The Crime Branch also investigates Instapay, a loan app linked to threats against Nithin Raj. Dr. Sangeeta Nambiar was earlier granted and then arrested on bail.
