Bombay High Court Cancels Bail for Ramesh Mhatre, Orders Surrender by July 19

On July 18, Bombay High Court, in a special Saturday sitting, cancelled the bail granted to Ramesh Mhatre and four associates for assaulting three doctors at a civic hospital. The court criticized the magistrate’s leniency and directed Mr. Mhatre to surrender by July 19 or face property attachment. The court also appealed to protesting doctors to reconsider their strike planned for July 22.
