Sahkar sweeps SUMUL Dairy board, winning 15 of 16 seats; Congress-backed panel wiped out
On July 15, the Sahkar panel won 15 of 16 seats in SUMUL Dairy's board elections, with one seat going to independent candidate Dhananjay Patel. The Congress-backed Pashupalak Heet Rakshak Samiti was wiped out. BJP MLA Sandip Desai said the party will decide top posts. Close contests occurred in Tapi district seats. SUMUL Dairy has an annual turnover of Rs 6,500 crores and around 2.5 lakh members.
