Triplicane police in Chennai questioned Vijayan, the senior editor of Puthiya Thalaimurai Television, and seized his mobile phone for cyber forensic analysis on July 15-16, 2026. The investigation relates to a ₹35-crore bribe offer made by Tirunavukkarasu and others to Elayaraja, the ruling TVK MLA from Uthangarai, to vote against his party in the Legislative Assembly. Vijayan allegedly sent objectionable messages to Tirunavukkarasu during the conspiracy.
