Delhi Proposes 56 Women-Only Electric Buses with Free Travel and Security

The Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) proposes 56 women-only electric bus services across 28 routes in Delhi, with 30 for office-goers and 26 for students. Scheduled during peak hours, these buses aim to provide safer, reliable transport while reducing overcrowding on regular services. Each bus will feature CCTV cameras, panic buttons, and security personnel, and use the Pink Smart Card system for free travel. The initiative supports women's daily commuting needs and aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a "Green Delhi." Dr. Pankaj Singh, Transport Minister, emphasized the importance of safe and inclusive public transport.
